Expectations

Expectations. This is a word that I have tried hard not to think about. I know that when you start to expect something, there is a feeling of anticipation and excitement. Suddenly, when your expectations are not met for some reason, a wave of disappointment hits you hard on the face.

It is during moments like this when I often wonder, what’s the point of filling my head with all the positive thoughts when the outcome is extremely different in the end?

Some people put in a lot of effort for something they really believe in. No matter what the costs, they still persevere, hoping one day that they will reap the fruits of their labor. That day will surely come, but nobody knows when really. It’s that uncertainty, the unknown, that keeps most people from leaving the stability of their lives to do something completely different and beyond the social norm.

I find myself in the middle of stable and shaky ground. I feel as if I’m teetering on a very thin line of rope. It’s bound to break with one wrong move.

As for me, I will just seize the moment of every day. I am one of those people chasing after a dream. I cherish the hope that one day, I can finally say to myself that “yes, I did very well. very well indeed.” So until my moment comes, expectations are lowered to a bare minimum.

I would love to have one of these! :D

Swimsuits for Your Body Type: Part II

Still confused about the perfect swimsuit? Read on for more tips to finding the right swimsuit for your body type.

Body Type 2 – Big on Top

For the “gifted” ladies, you need swimsuits with extra support. You don’t want your assets peeking out while you swim or play beach volleyball. It’s alright if you want to flaunt what you’ve got, just don’t overdo it. Find a swimsuit that flatters your body shape and not just your cleavage.

Halter-top swimsuits

Swimsuits with underwire tops will work well for you. Bikinis with halter tops are good choices for full support. Find tops with bands around the midriff. Halter-tops should be tied around the neck and back. This swimsuit style will give you while showing off your cleavage too.

Halter-top Swimsuits

If you like one-piece swimsuits better, try looking for suits with soft foam cups. For a sporty look, go for a straight cut style such as a classic tank. Avoid thin spaghetti straps for tops. Find wide shoulder straps instead for more comfort and security. Don’t go for strapless bandeau tops because they only provide minimal coverage.

Body Type 3 – Short Torso

Aside from wearing vertical-striped one-piece suits, you can also try wearing a bikini with a solid bottom and printed top. This will draw attention to the upper part of the body aside from elongating your body frame.

Its swimsuit season once again with summer just around the corner. Get your sunblock, tanning lotion, fab sunnies and a couple of swimwear ready in your beach bag. But wait… You still don’t know what swimsuit goes well with your body type? Here’s a general overview on what’s hot or not for your body.

Two-piece or one-piece?

Deciding between a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit depends on your self-confidence. If you are not afraid to show off your curves, wear a bikini. You do not have to wear something that is dangerously too revealing. There’s a difference between skimpy and barely covered. Wearing a swimsuit cover-up over a bikini looks very fashionable too.

Stylish two-piece swimsuits

Some of the most beautiful women with gorgeous curves go for one-piece suits. Fashion trends have updated one-piece swimsuits with new cuts and designs that give off the same sexy aura of a two-piece. If you want to be less revealing, wear a one-piece suit to keep things interesting. Many one-piece suits can show off your flawless back while covering your tummy. Some can show a little more leg which elongates your frame. For the gifted, you can flaunt your assets with one-piece suit that reveals your cleavage.

For women who are small on top, look for a swimsuit that has a built-in underwire or padding. You can also find a demi-bra style that boosts even the smallest bust line. Your swimsuit should have adjustable straps so that you can adjust things to achieve a comfortable fit.

Ruffled tops can also give an illusion of a bigger bust. For bikinis, a bandeau top is also ideal for your small frame. Remember to avoid swimsuit tops that have too much fabric and fit poorly on you. It may be difficult to find a one-piece swimsuit that can really enhance a small body type. Choose separate pieces instead so that you can find a top and bottom separately. Don’t be afraid to mix and match.

The stripes in any form of clothing has always been a regular staple among women. Each one of us may have at least a few striped shirts, blouses and dresses. New Year's Resolutions

It’s another new year and it’s time for me to set goals for myself. Writing a post about it online will hopefully inspire and motivate me more.

1. Save more and shop less.

I know some of you can relate to this resolution. I was not that successful last year because the temptation was too great. :D However, this year, I think I have all the things I need, wardrobe and accessories wise. This resolution also applies to my daughter. I need to refrain from shopping too much for her clothes and other cute stuff that I see - unless she absolutely needs them. My strategy is to stay away from boutiques and department stores to avoid temptation.

2. Be more patient - in everything.

I can be really stressed-out over little things that really get on my nerves. I’ll work harder on this.

3. Lose a few more pounds.

Yes, I’m not fat. I’m also not that slim enough. Well, at least I think so. I just need to shed some more tummy fat by laying off sweets and rice. I started to go on a rice-less diet last year but then I got sick. I went back to eating rice again although in smaller portions now. Fish, chicken and vegetables are my main courses.

4. Get regular beauty treatments.

This has been a last priority for me. Becoming a mom has changed certain priorities especially for myself. My poor hair has been pulled at by little hands during playtime. Last year, I tried to make do with treatments I can easily do at home. This year, I promise to have my hair and the rest of my body pampered regularly.

5. Update my social networks aside from Facebook regularly.

Everyday for Piclyf and Plurk, once a week for Tumblr and Twitter. :)

As a PicLyf user, I’ve been waiting for the developers to allow their users to customize their page through some sort of theme or wallpaper design. Although the site already has a few standard wallpapers to choose from, I was looking for something different - something that suits my personality better. Like a Christmas gift, users like me were delighted to see the different wallpaper designs:

As you can see, I’m using the rainbow stripes wallpaper. It definitely brightens my PicLyf page and suits my colorful life!
