It’s the beginning of the New Year and for fashionistas out there, it’s time to take a look at your closet and see if you have these colors for your wardrobe:
Expectations
Expectations. This is a word that I have tried hard not to think about. I know that when you start to expect something, there is a feeling of anticipation and excitement. Suddenly, when your expectations are not met for some reason, a wave of disappointment hits you hard on the face.
It is during moments like this when I often wonder, what’s the point of filling my head with all the positive thoughts when the outcome is extremely different in the end?
Some people put in a lot of effort for something they really believe in. No matter what the costs, they still persevere, hoping one day that they will reap the fruits of their labor. That day will surely come, but nobody knows when really. It’s that uncertainty, the unknown, that keeps most people from leaving the stability of their lives to do something completely different and beyond the social norm.
I find myself in the middle of stable and shaky ground. I feel as if I’m teetering on a very thin line of rope. It’s bound to break with one wrong move.
As for me, I will just seize the moment of every day. I am one of those people chasing after a dream. I cherish the hope that one day, I can finally say to myself that “yes, I did very well. very well indeed.” So until my moment comes, expectations are lowered to a bare minimum.
